Have you hugged your child today?

Frank & I have been caring for children birth to three years old in our home since 1992. We enjoy being their extra set of grandparents giving them lots of hugs & kisses.   As an advocate of quality care, our goal for your child is to help them grow socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively to their fullest potential thru a loving, safe, healthy, stimulating, smoke-free environment. Your child's needs and wishes are the most important thing to us.  Children learn best while having fun and being praised for their accomplishments. Our children love to have story time & look at books, imagination play, crafts, music, creativity with blocks, puzzles & dress up, indoor as well as outdoor play & of course independent play. We work on learning good manners, sharing & building self confidence.As part of our planned program we have a special culture day each month, like Jamaican, India Indian, Mexican, Native American Indian, Hawaiian, Greek & etc. During the month we play games, sing songs, make crafts, and dress up ( I often make customs that go with the culture of that month ). Parents each bring a food from that culture and often join us for breakfast, lunch or even snack time. Everyone has a great time learning & participating, even the parents.

At least one time a month we take the children on a fields trip to places like the Zoo, Library, Aquarium & etc. In order to provide the children with the safest fun time, at least one parent goes with us as an extra set of eyes. We plan our program according to the age of our children.

I love to take pictures of our children in some of their activities & often send them to their parents during the day. That way parents can share what their child was doing that day. These are also great fun to share with grandparents & co workers.

The parents with children in our program work with us to provide the best caring learning experience we can provide for their child. Each day we discuss achievements or concerns with their child as well as any problems they may be experiencing at home. We might have suggestions to help with possibly solving some problems.

Calenders are provided for each parent at the beginning of each month in order that everyone is well informed of our program for that month's, field trip, special events, craft days, & etc.

We are CPR & 1st Aid certified and licensed in Hillsborough county & state of Florida. We have been members of the Tampa Home Child Care Provider Association since becoming licensed. In order to offer the best child care we can provide, we attend classes to refresh us by sharing ideas & teaching us the up to date methods of caring for children.  We are members Lutheran Services Food Program. This means that we serve two meals & one snack per day to the children. Breakfast is served from 7 AM to 8:15 AM, Lunch is from 11:15 AM TO 12 noon, & snacks from 3:15 to 3:30 PM, with infants being fed as needed. Children are provided with healthy nutritional food that is often inspected by monitor's to make sure we are serving the correct foods.

Most of all, we love our children & believe in lots of hugs & kisses makes for a happy child. HAVE YOU HUGGED YOUR CHILD TODAY?
